Henry-verse fans, we have our January Andrews! Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has officially landed the lead in the highly anticipated Beach Read adaptation.
News outlet Deadline officially announced the news, and Emily Henry has already taken to Instagram to share her excitement with the readers.
Dynevor, who captivated audiences as Daphne in the popular Netflix series Bridgerton, seems like a natural fit for January’s blend of romantic hopefulness and sharp-witted cynicism. With her involved, the stakes for finding the perfect Augustus 'Gus' Everett have just reached an all-time high.
What is Beach Read about?
Authors Augustus Everett and January Andrews find themselves as neighboring beach house residents, both broke and battling severe writer's block. To get their groove back, they strike a deal to trade writing styles for the summer: Augustus must write a happy ending, while January attempts to pen a gritty literary novel. Through quirky 'research' field trips, the rivals challenge each other to swap genres — vowing that falling in love isn't part of the deal. But will they be able to stick to it?
The film is set to be directed by Yulin Kuang, who is also penning the screenplay. Kuang is already a favorite within the Henry-verse, having also written the screenplay for People We Meet on Vacation. While a theatrical release date has yet to be announced, the project is officially moving forward at 20th Century Studios.
While Phoebe is officially on board, there is still no news on who will play Augustus “Gus” Everett. However, that hasn't stopped fans from "manifesting" their favorite leading men to star opposite Dynevor in what is sure to be the next big rom-com hit.
